After a quick Google search for a local coffee shop, we made our way to Fat Cup Coffee. The excellent reviews are correct, this place has amazing coffee. They roast their own beans so you know it is fresh. Espresso made the way it is supposed to be made. The owner, Ryan was attentive and spent time chatting with us during our visit. If you find yourself in Waterloo and in need of really good coffee, Fat Cup Coffee is your place!

I discovered this when we lived in the CFW area and was really sad when me moved out of state. I was blown away when I saw it could be shipped to me and promptly started ordering our favorite roasts to our new state. This last order was delayed which is fine we made due but I did not expect it to arrive with a surprise inside! I personally love this company and will be very sad if they ever stop shipping out of IA. If you have not tried their coffee, its a must! I love supporting small family owned businesses and they deserve all the support!

Picked up some cold brew and saw these Monster cookies, once again Fat Cup DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Highly recommend Fat Cup whenever You’re in the Waterloo area.

My favorite coffee place in Waterloo Cedar falls, even the entire Midwest. I’ve had coffee in bigger cities that doesn’t even compare to Fat Cup. I’ve never had a bad cup of coffee there, highly recommend. Be sure to grab a bag of coffee beans when you’re there too.

Opposed to chain/franchise coffee shops, we are always on the lookout for independently owned. The owner was so accommodating and informed us of the multiple options... Cows milk, almond milk, soy milk, and coconut milk available. Hot, iced, and blended coffee offered. (Almond whip cream is available as well.) Great tea menu. Live music was advertised. The establishment was so clean (as were the restrooms) and had plenty of seating. (Think: I have a lot of work to do and would love to enjoy a cup or few of coffee/tea while doing it.) Y'all... this is hands down the best coffee I've ever had. Worth exiting 218 for!

I love visiting and enjoying Fat Cup home in Iowa. My son lives a few blocks from Fat Cup which makes it very convenient. I wish they could make delivery to PA a normal practice. Until then, I await my next trip home.

I drink a lot of coffee and I can honestly say that this is probably my favorite cup. I can get it at fareway and if I'm in the area I try and stop in any chance I get. Forget about the burned, bitter beans that you get from the big corporate coffee companies. They don't even come close to the flavor and smoothness. This is a must-try if you love coffee and are ever in the area.
